Service for Gail Birkett, 79, of Garland will be 2:00 P.M., Saturday, October 30, 2021, in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. Mr. Mike Crosby will officiate. Burial will follow at George’s Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be prior to the funeral 1-2:00 P.M., Saturday.
Gail passed away October 23, 2021, in Dallas. She was born November 15, 1941, in Dallas to Everette Lecil and Reba Louise Dodson Cheek. Gail married James Birkett on June 5, 1982, in Rockwall. She was a member of South Garland Church of Christ.
Gail was a long time employee of Nor Tel working as a data base engineer. Later in life she served as the office manager for South Garland Church of Christ. Gail was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.
Gail is survived by her husband James Birkett of Garland; daughter, Shelley Gomez of Garland; brother, Roger Cheek and wife Kay of The Colony; step-son, Alan Birkett; grandchildren, Michelle Mercer and husband Matt, Brittany Peters, Chaynne, Brooke, Courtney; great-grandchildren, Madison Brown, Micaela Williams, Elijah Peters, Isiah Peters, Cali Thurman, Cade Thurman Maci Mercer; nephews, Scott Cheek and wife LeeAnn, Corey Cheek and wife Janie; great nieces and nephews, Carson Cheek and wife Elizabeth, Riley Cheek, Brooks Cheek and Finley Cheek.
