Garland Bourg

Service for Garland Bourg, Sr. 77, of Rio Vista will be conducted at 10:00 A.M., Friday, May 7, 2021 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. Burial will follow in Grange Hall Cemetery in Rio Vista. Visitation will be 6-8:00 P.M., Thursday, May 6, 2021 at the funeral home.

Garland passed away May 3, 2021 in Fort Worth. He was born December 1, 1943 in Donaldsonville, Louisiana. He married Sue Ann Hays on September 30, 1961 in Poteau, Oklahoma. Garland was a dedicated and loyal man, especially when it came to his family and work. He had many things to be proud of but his proudest was being married for 59 years. In his younger years, he coached baseball. Garland never slowed down. He spent countless hours with his cattle and enjoyed it greatly. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Garland is survived by his wife, Sue Bourg; sons, Garland Bourg, Jr. and wife Tammie, Randy Bourg, Ronnie Bourg; grandchildren, Matthew Bourg and wife Carolyn, Stuart Bourg and wife Kayle, Brandon Bourg and wife Alicia, Blake Bourg and wife Kacie, Brody and wife Megan and Leslie Bourg; 12 great-grandchildren and one on the way; siblings Jerry Thom, Barbara Musco and husband Johnny, numerous nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.

Garland is preceded in death by his parents, Marvin and Ann Thom; grandson, Colby Bourg and brother, Ray Thom.
