Graveside service for Gayle Jean Guthrie Dawson, 67, of Cleburne will be conducted at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, March 19, 2014 in Godley Cemetery. Pastor Russ Weaver will officiate.

The family will receive friends and relatives at her home at 6:00 P.M. on Tuesday, March 18, 2014.

On Friday, March 14, 2014 Gayle Jean Guthrie Dawson went home to be with her son, husband, parents and the Lord after a lengthy illness. She was born October 13, 1946 in Cleburne to Marvin H. and Beatrice Ophelia Pete Crocker Guthrie. She lived in Johnson County all her life until she married John Dawson and moved to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Mrs. Dawson loved hunting, fishing and traveling with her husband and her cat. After Johns death she then moved back home to Texas. She was of the Baptist faith.

Gayle was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John in 1994; son, Burton; and a nephew, Brandon Holden.

Survivors include her brother, Marvin Corbie Guthrie and wife Zoe; nieces, Misty Hiser and Jenifer Holden; great nephew, Trevor Hiser; great nieces, Torie Hiser, Taylor Hiser, and Karissa Holden; uncle, Don Crocker and numerous cousins, all whom she loved dearly. Whether it was a tea party, games with the kids, or talking on the phone with cousins, she was always available and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
