Service for Gayle White, 80, of Cleburne, will be conducted at 2:00 P.M., Monday, February 27, 2023 in Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. Dr. John Hall and Mr. Jerry Melson will officiate. Burial will follow in Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be 4:00-6:00 P.M., Sunday, February 26, 2023 at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Tim Boedeker, Chris Boedeker, Austin Ash, Geoffrey Jackson, Garren Stevens, and Caleb Stevens. Honorary pallbearers will be the Cleburne Police and Fire Departments.
Gayle passed away Sunday, February 19, 2023 in Cleburne. She was born June 30, 1942 in Meridian to Hershel Weldon and Annie Lora (Parks) Duvall. Gayle married Curtis Weldon White on September 20, 1985 in Cleburne. She was a member of Field Street Baptist Church. Gayle worked as a Nurse at Johnson County Hospital. She served on city council from 2009-2019 and then became City of Cleburne liaison. Gayle volunteered with Citizens on Patrol, Rotary Club, C.I.S.D., and was Ambassador for the Chamber of Commerce in Cleburne. She was a musician and accomplished artist, songwriter and poet. Gayle loved family and prayer ministry.
She is survived by her brother, Pat Duvall; former husband, Raymond Oswald; son, Roy Oswald; daughters, Mary Oswald Boedeker and husband, Danny, Rene White Jackson and husband, Jerry, Rashel White Stevens, and DeAnn White Ash and husband, Dale; stepson, Jeff Ownbey and wife, Paula; stepdaughter, Karen Ownbey Grigsby and husband, Monty; grandsons, Tim Boedeker and wife, Lillie, Chris Boedeker and wife, Andrea, Austin Ash and wife, Melissa, Geoffrey Jackson, Garren Stevens and wife, Shiann, and Caleb Stevens; granddaughter, Abby Ash Adams and husband, Ethan; great-grandchildren, Oliver, Henry, Jack and Luke Boedeker, Hudson and Hogan Adams, and Weston and Audrey Ash; numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.
Gayle was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Don and John Duvall, Janie Shrader, and Nell Boyd; son, Walter Oswald; husband, Curtis White, and husband, Kenneth Ownbey.
