Graveside service for Gaylon Earl Wilson, 74, of Cleburne will be conducted at 2:00 P.M., Monday, Jan. 30, 2017 in Rosehill Cemetery. The Reverend Eddie Freeman will officiate. Visitation will be from 4-6:00 P.M., Sunday, at Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Funeral Home.
Gaylon Earl Wilson passed away Wednesday, Jan. 25, 2017 after a year of treatment with Leukemia (AML). He was born on Jan. 29, 1942 in Cleburne to William Earl and Glen Rose Lucus Wilson. He married Sandra Sue Hammers on April 18, 1959 in Madill, OK.
Gaylon graduated from South Oak Cliff in 1960. Since Gaylon was already married, he needed a job. He went to work for Southwestern Life Insurance, retiring in 1979 as Vice President. In 1980 he started selling real estate. In 1985 he received his CCIM designation and in 1988 he was building and developing apartments. In 1990 he applied for a securities license from SEC and opened his office. In 2001 he retired and moved back to Cleburne where he enjoyed planting and grafting pecan trees. He was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his beloved wife Sandra Wilson of Cleburne; sons, Warren E. Wilson of Cleburne and Kevin E. Wilson and wife Jennifer of Mabank; grandchildren, Ashley Marie Hammond, Justine Wilson and Jordan Wilson; great grandchildren, Aaron Lee and Colin Raye; sister, Earline Wilson Freeman of Saginaw; niece, Rachelle Whiteman and husband Kenneth; grandniece, Desiree; and several other relatives and friends who will miss him greatly. He was preceded in death by his parents.
