Services for G.B. Cooper, 88 of Cleburne will be conducted at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, Nov. 21, 2006 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel.
Mr. B.B. Stevens will officiate. Pallbearers will be D.G. Garner, Pat Garner, Robert Garner, Powell Cooper, Jack Cooper, Neil Cooper, Larry Hancock, Walker Roberson and Billy David Roberson. Honorary pallbearers will be C.D. Hancock, Charles Head, Tom Day, Earl Senter, Tommy Phillips and Sonny Rose. Burial will be in the Rio Vista Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 p.m., Monday at the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Funeral Home.

Mr. Cooper passed away, Sunday, Nov. 18, 2006 in Glen Rose. He was born Aug. 9, 1918 in Rio Vista to Greene Berry and Mary Susan Milwee Cooper. He married Wilma Ruth Johnson on Dec. 16, 1948 in Blum.
Mr. Cooper was a retired clerk for the Santa Fe Railroad and a member of the Westhill Church of Christ. He formerly served as a deacon at the Rio Vista Church of Christ and the Central Church of Christ. He was a people person and enjoyed sports and reading. Mr. Cooper was also veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corp.

G. B. Cooper is survived by his wife of 57 years, Wilma Ruth Cooper of Cleburne; daughters, Mary Ruth Wirt and husband Lloyd of Glen Rose and Martha West and husband Alfred of Kopperl; grandson, John David Wirt and wife Catherine of Clinton, Miss.; foster great grandchildren, Nate Burgess and Sarah Burgess/Gordon and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Chuck Wirt; brothers, Vernon Cooper and Carl Cooper; sisters, Myrl Hancock, Exia Roberson and Catherine Garner.
Memorials may be sent to the Foster Children's Home in Stephenville, the Cherokee Children's Home in Cherokee, Tx. or the Westview Boy's Home in Altus, Okla.
