Genna passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, March 23, 2023 in Fort Worth. She was born January 2, 1936 in Egan, Texas to Jesse Madison and Lorena (Wilson) Whitley. Genna married Charles L. Vincent on January 29, 1965 in Cleburne. They were married for 46 years at the time of his passing on May 18, 2011. She worked for Walls Industries for over 25 years in the Zipper department. Genna was a tough lady, who never let any obstacle stand in her way. Her grandchildren lovingly called her "Mawmaw" and “John Wayne” as she tended to business on her home-place with dedication and determination alike. She had a feisty spirit and witty nature, which made her loved by many. Genna earned her AI Certification amongst few other women at the time and went on to use her knowledge in artificial insemination and palpitation to strengthen her own Angus Cattle herd. She took great pride and enjoyment in being a cattle rancher as well as watching her family show in local stock shows and competitions throughout the years. She would be delighted to know that her family intends to continue her Angus Cattle ranching in her memory as it was her true calling and passion. Genna’s life lessons in love of family, having a strong faith, working hard and persevering will be remembered long past her years here with loved ones. She will be greatly missed. Genna is preceded in death by her parents (listed above); husband, Charles L. Vincent; and siblings, J.M. Whitley and Sophia Reasoner.
She is survived by her daughter, Jenny Moreno & her husband, Jesse; grandchildren, Jeremy Moreno & his wife, Brittany, and Jeneva Moreno & her fiancé, Blake Faber; great-grandchildren, Brooke and Adah Moreno; siblings, Barbara Wilson, Alice Ratliff, and Jerry Ledbetter; as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.
