Service for Gennie Rutledge Neal, 70, of Rio Vista, will be conducted at 11:00 A.M., Thursday, October 1, 2015 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. Dr. John Michalak will officiate. Burial will be in Woodbury Cemetery in Hill County. Pallbearers will be Christopher Neal, Brian Montgomery, Daniel Henslee, Hubert Rutledge, Timothy Rutledge and David Neal, Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be Hubert Rutledge, Jr., Roger Rutledge, Gary Rutledge, Terry Rutledge, Tommy Rutledge, Donnie Rutledge, Steve Rutledge, Mike Maupin, David Neal, Sr., and Larry Junge. Visitation will be from 6-8:00 P.M., Wednesday, at the funeral home.
Gennie Rutledge Neal passed away Sunday, September 27, 2015 in Rio Vista. She was born July 25, 1945 in Cotton Plant, Ark. to Hubert Lee and Dovie Mae Clark Rutledge. She married Ray Kidwell Neal on April 2, 1966 in Dallas and he preceded her in death on May 16, 2006.
Mrs. Neal was a homemaker and a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She was lovingly known as Momma, Nanny and Aunt Gennie. She was a Christian who knew and loved the Lord and her life was a reflection of that. She will be missed greatly by all who knew and loved her.
Survivors include her daughters, Kathy Sue Henslee and husband Daniel of Durango, and Peggy Sherina Saylors of Rio Vista; son, Christopher Ray Neal of Durango; grandson, Brian Keith Montgomery and wife Kassidy of Robinson; great grandchildren, Alexus Nicole Neal and Judson Bridger Montgomery; siblings, Hubert Rutledge Jr. and wife Pat of Cleburne, Roger Rutledge and wife Brenda of Cleburne, Tommy Rutledge of Rio Vista, Steve Rutledge of Cleburne, Donny Rutledge and wife Sandy of Flint, MI, Gary Rutledge and wife Lois of Grandview, Terry Rutledge and wife Kim of Cleburne, and Betty Love of Grandview; and a host of other relatives and friends. She was also preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Ricky Rutledge; three sisters, Lois Cook, Gladys Sijanski, and Linda Pinson; and grandparents, William “Papa” Clark and Iner “Momma” Clark.
