A memorial service for George Aaron "Big George" Davis, Sr., 85, of Rio Vista, will be held at 2:00 P.M., Sunday, February 18, 2024, at the Johnson County Livestock Exchange, 3119 N Main St, Cleburne, TX 76033, with Pastor Wade Yarbro officiating.

George passed away Tuesday, February 6, 2024, in Rio Vista. He was born September 18, 1938, in Slaton, Texas to George W. (G.W.) and Ruby Lorena (Talbot) Davis. George married Linda Lu West on February 11, 1961 in Cleburne. They were married for 61 beautiful years before her passing in March of 2022. He was a member of Chisholm Trail Cowboy Church. George proudly served his country in the United States Navy during the Korean conflict. He was in the ranching industry working as a cattle trader. George had many great stories to tell. He had his own opinion about things and  wasn't afraid to let you know where he stood. George enjoyed fishing, watching his family team rope, and was a cattle buyer and a jackpot roper himself. Even though he was sparing with personal compliments, his pride in all his family was evident to everyone else. Gran Gran will be greatly missed by all that knew him.

He is survived by his son, George Davis, Jr., and Leah; daughter, Joetta Lin Payne and Kelly; grandchildren, Lacey Lavender, Lindsey McPherson and Josh, Kallie Seay and Josh, Zane Payne and Katelyn, and Tripp Davis and Canyon; great-grandchildren, JC Lavender, Cooper Lavender, Jaedyn McPherson, Cutter Lavender, Jaxxon McPherson, Riley Seay, Reagan Seay, Brody Payne, Hutch Payne, and Trigger George Davis; brothers, Bobby Davis and Beth; sister, Margie Davis Fuller; numerous nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends, along with his faithful dog, Toby.

George was preceded in death by his parents, George W. (G.W.) Davis and Ruby; wife, Linda Lu (West) Davis; and brother, Joe Davis.
