George Lathers
Service for George Lee Lathers Sr., 64, longtime resident and electrician of Cleburne, will be conducted at 10:00 A.M., Thursday, Nov. 7, 2013 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. Burial will be in Rosehill Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jordan Lathers, Chris Lathers, Ken Lathers, Gene Lathers, Sr., Brandon Martinez and Tray Moore. Visitation will be from 6-8:00 P.M., Wednesday, at the funeral home.
George passed away Monday, Nov. 4, 2013 in Ft. Worth surrounded by loved ones. He was born Feb. 25, 1949 in Dallas to Willie Jewell and Lula Mae James Lathers. He married Barbara Clay on Sept. 23, 1967 in Garland. George was of the Baptist faith. He was a family man, who adored his children and grandchildren. He had a gift for making others laugh and was known for always having a smile on his face. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially camping and fishing. George’s mischievous nature and giving spirit will be missed greatly by all who knew and loved him.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Barbara Lathers; children George Lathers, Jr. and wife, Michelle and Kim Lathers Sutton and husband, Johnny; grandchildren, Dustin Holland, Danielle Holland, Emma Lathers, Connor Lathers, Aiden Lathers and Garrett Lathers; siblings, Darlene Lathers and companion, Bill, Connie Carlock, Glenda Byers and husband, Mike, Debbie Barkat and husband, Joe, Flora Stanford and husband, Kevin, Donald Lathers and wife, Geraldine, Glenn Lathers and wife, Deborah and Jerry Walton, and wife Gina; sister-in-law, Linda Lathers; numerous generations of nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Lula Mae Walton and Willie Jewell Lathers, siblings, Billy Lathers, Okie Walton and Anthony Walton; and brother-in-law, Oscar Carlock, Jr.
