George Mears

George Simpson Mears, Sr. passed away Thursday, September 14, 2006 in Ft. Worth. He was born August 20, 1952 in Brazos Point, Texas to George Washington and Thelma Walker Mears. He married Stacy Deann Moseley on April 22, 1989 in Cleburne.
Mr. Mears was a retired asst. water superintendent for the City of Cleburne. He was a member of Central Fellowship Church and Faith Temple, both located in Cleburne.
George Simpson Mears, Sr. is survived by his wife Stacy Mears of Burleson; sons, Chet Douglas Mears, Jacob Dean Mears, George Simpson Mears, Jr., and Jimmy Martin Mears; brothers, Charlie Mears and wife Vicki of Cleburne and Leon Mears and wife Stephanie of Cleburne; sisters, Sissy Homan and husband Randy of Cleburne and Ethel Lee Johnson and husband Henry of Cleburne; step-mother, Pauline Mears of Cleburne; and a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, George Washington Mears; his mother, Thelma Walker Mears; his adoptive mother, Mary Coplin; and one brother, Elmer Ray Coplin.
