Memorial visitation for George Mason Songer, 78, of Godley will be from 6-8:00 P.M., Thursday, June 12, 2014 at the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Funeral Home.

George Mason Songer peacefully left this world surrounded by his loving family on June 8, 2014 in Cleburne after a brief illness with acute myeloid leukemia. He entered this world on July 3, 1935 in Ft. Worth to James Delbert and Lena Mae Womack Songer.

George courageously served his country as a Navy ship serviceman 3rd class from 1953-1957. He worked the sound department for CBS and Mary Tyler Moore Productions.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his brother, David Songer; and nephew, Justin.

George is survived by his brother, Jimmie Songer; sisters, Rae Ann McKittrick and Peggy Clement; and several nieces and nephews.
