George Whipp

Services for George D. Whipp, 54, of Cleburne, will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 9, 2009 in the Calvary Baptist Church. Reverend Charles E. Payne and Reverend Earl Sides will officiate. Burial will be in Prices Chapel Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Mike Johnson, Mason Milstead, Curtis Rives, Brian McMullin, Mitchell Bowers, Corey Allen and Ernie Speaker. Honorary pallbearers will be the Bonham and Whipp Contractors employees.
Mr. Whipp passed away Sunday, September 6, 2009 at home, following a courageous 23 year battle with cancer. He was born September 30, 1954 in Cleburne to J.B. "Buster" and Phebe Whipp. He married Debbie Gail Sullivan on March 18, 1983 in Cleburne.
George Whipp was a cement contractor. He was a hard worker, skilled builder and craftsman. He attended Calvary Baptist Church and he will be missed by his many friends and family.
Mr. Whipp is survived by his wife, Debbie Whipp of Cleburne; mother, Phebe Whipp of Cleburne; 3 sisters, Marilyn Bell and husband, Paul of Godley, Laura Baize and husband, Lloyd of Cleburne and Carol Johnson and husband, Herman of Hico and a number of nieces and nephews, great and great-great neices and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father, J.B "Buster" Whipp on January 24, 1996 and sister, Linda Bonham on October 18, 2004.
