Georgene Laursen

Services for Georgene Eleanor Laursen, 89, of Fort Worth, will be conducted at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, July 16, 2005 in the Cleburne Funeral Home Chapel. Elder Mike Tucker, friend and pastor, and Chaplain Michael Hansen, grandson-in-law will officiate. Burial will be in Keene Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Clem Hobbs, Craig Hunt, Robert Rooney, Ashton Laursen,Danny Enevoldsen and Dean Bixby. Honorary pallbearers will be David Chapeline, Quinton Oden, Clyde Melton, Dan Voth, and Chaplain Michael Hansen.
Mrs. Laursen passed away Wednesday, July 13, 2005 in Fort Worth. She was born January 18, 1919 in Buffalo, Wyoming, to Troy Albert and Celia Irene Bragg Michael. She married DeVer Sherwood Laursen on February 9, 1945 in Sacramento, California. Mrs. Laursen worked as a teacher and nurse. She served a a missionary to India, pastoring, teaching and nursing. She was a resident of Keene for many years. She was a member of Keene Seventh Day Adventist.
Georgene Eleanor Laursen is survived by one son, Dennis Laursen and wife Marsha of Keene; three daughters, VerDenne Bixby and husband Dean of Orlando, FL, Earlenne Hunt and husband Roy of Sun Valley, CA, Loreene Braden and husband Tim of Alvarado; three sisters, Connie Roberts of San Antonio, Jackie Smith of Wyoming, Pat Weythman of Wyoming; two brothers, Robert Michael of Wyoming and Bill Michael of Wyoming; grandchildren, Karen Barnett, Kimberly Hansen, Darla Bruss, Lori Glase, Lisa Bixby, Aston Laursen, Melinda Laursen, Tiffany Braden, Heather Braden and Brandt Braden; great grandchildren, Zachary Barnett, Emily Barnett, Allison Barnett, Andrew Barnett, Elizabeth Hansen, Brandon Hansen, Sean Bruss, Adam Bruss, Nicole Bruss, Adrianne Glase and Megan Glase; cousins, Rollin Michael of Anaheim, CA, Dean McGrew of Corpus Christi, Billy Bragg of Newbury Park, CA, and Jerry Sonato of Wauhegan, Ill. She was preceded in death by parents, Troy and Irene Michael; foster parents, Earl and Mae McGrew; sister Donna Atwell; brothers, Frank Michael and Bud McGrew; cousins, Don Maitland, Helanae Barclay and Claude Able.
