Glen Rose Lucus Wilson passed away Friday, July 17, 2009 in Cleburne. She was born May 09, 1912 in Cisco, the fourth of nine children to Charlie Yarnell and Mary Myrtle Lasater Lucas. She married William Earl Wilson on November 24, 1938 in Glen Rose.
Mrs. Wilson quit school during the depression to help support her family and later became a professional baker and teacher. She taught pre-K at Champion State Private School in Dallas where she retired. She was a member of Henderson St. Baptist Church where she taught Sunday school and sang in the choir. She was a true "Rosie the Riveter" in 1944, part of a special group of women who built more planes than had ever been built in the entire world before that year. She always had a positive attitude and was loved by all who knew her.
Glen Rose Wilson is survived by son, Gaylon E. Wilson and wife, Sandra, of Cleburne; daughter, Doris Earline Freeman, of Saginaw; two grandsons, Warren E. Wilson of Cleburne and Kevin E. Wilson and wife Jennifer of Gun Barrel City, granddaughter, Rachelle and husband, Ken and a host of other family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband William E. Wilson in 2001 and five brothers and four sisters.
