Glenda Bruner

Glenda Frances (Lyle) Bruner, 84, of Grandview, passed peacefully on Thursday, March 27, 2025 in Grandview. She was born on January 26, 1941 to Homer and Lena (Ellis) Lyle in the Grandview area.

Glenda courageously launched into adulthood at an early age, marrying Eugene Bruner, graduating from Grandview High School, and beginning a family, all by the age of 18. She and Eugene lived in the Dallas area with their young family before moving to Quitman, Texas in 1973. Glenda and Eugene returned to their hometown of Grandview in 2004 to be near family and cherished friends.

Glenda loved her family and delighted in family activities, especially as her brood grew to include grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Glenda also loved to cook and everyone in her extended family loved her cooking, especially her pies and cookies.

Glenda’s life has nourished a grateful circle of family and friends who cherish her memory and her living presence in our hearts. She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Eugene Bruner; daughters Becky Bruner (and husband Hugh Stewart) of Virginia and Sheri (Bruner) Hughes (and husband Adam) of Grandview, and son Brian Bruner of Grandview; brothers John Lyle of San Marcos and Bill Lyle (and wife Peggy) of Cleburne; brother-in-law Carman Bruner (and wife Paula) of Grandview and sister-in-law Fern Lyle of Waxahachie; eight nieces and nephews (Mike, Gary, Cynthia, Linda, Larry, Tammy, Clay and Kyle); also by her grandchildren, Josh Hughes (and wife Bailey); Angela (Hughes) Jarrell (and husband Derek); Nathan Bruner; Sienna, Sophie, and Sadie Bruner; and great-grandchildren Hudson and Luke Hughes, and Ada Jarrell.

Glenda was preceded in death by her parents, Homer and Lena Lyle; her brother, Jim Lyle and her sister Ina Marie (Lyle) Morgan; and two nephews (John and Chad).

A private service will be held at a later date.
