Grace Thomsen

Memorial Service for Grace Emma Thiebaud Thomsen, 87, of Keene will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Friday, July 25, 2014 in the Keene Seventh-day Adventist Church. A graveside service will be held at 9:00 A.M., Friday, in Keene Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 6:00-8:00 P.M. on Thursday, July 24, 2014 at the funeral home.

Grace Emma Thiebaud Thomsen passed away Sunday, July 20, 2014 in Keene. She was born September 5, 1926 in Great Falls, Montana to Joseph Edward and Grace Barlow Thiebaud. She married Eugene Victor Thomsen on August 19, 1951 in Great Falls, Montana and he preceded her in death on January 10, 1982. She was also preceded in death by her parents; daughter, Kathleen Thomsen Hall; and sister, Bess Brockmeier.

Mrs. Thomsen, a court reporting transcriptionist retired with more than 40 years of service. She was a member of the Zonta Club, Mizpah Society, SWAU Committee of 100, and Keene Seventh-day Adventist Church. Grace’s given name is fitting as she has been described as being gracious, dignified, intellectually curious and cultured. She was a lover of the arts and painted water color pieces. Grace was a lifelong learner who leaves a legacy that can be described as soul inspiring. She was a fun-loving person who valued both people and privacy. Her love for life will be missed greatly by all who knew and loved her.

Survivors include her daughter, Cristina Thomsen; sisters, Sarah Vandenhoven and husband, Pieter, and Juanita Kretschmar; brother-in-law, Bert Carlson; sisters in law, Ruth Thomsen, Jessie Dwyer, and Ursula Thomsen; 21 nieces and nephews; 27 grand nieces and nephews; 5 great grand nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends who were as close as family to her.
