Guessie Pearce

Guessie Bankston Pearce, 104, longtime resident of Cleburne passed away Saturday, September 12, 2009. She was born to the late, Floyd F. and Pugh Zella Joslin Bankston on June 8, 1905 in Bell County. She married Noah Webster Pearce in 1947. Guessie was an active member of the First United Pentecostal Church. Nanny, as many called her was a quiet, lady of faith; devoted to her Lord. She was family oriented and a hard worker. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Noah in 1976; children, Hollis Elmo Scott, Ozella Peugh, and Winiford Scott; three grandchildren; and seven brothers.

Survivors include her daughters, Patricia Chapman and husband, D.J. of Cleburne, Jean Chadwick of Portland, and Odessa Little of Baird; 7 grandchildren, Butch and Kay Scott, Patsy and Tony Lambright, Homer and Mitzi Thomas, Linda and Bill Freelin, Kenneth and Lilly Chadwick, Donald and Michele Staggs, and Darla and DeWaun Ashley; 22 great grandchildren; numerous great great grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
