Harlow Horace Wood entered his earthly home on July 28, 1941 and entered his heavenly home on June 20, 2021. He was born to wonderful parents, Horace and Sybil Wood of the Concord Community in Cleburne. Harlow was the first born of only 15 minutes, then his twin brother, Gidley arrived. Together they had a wonderful and fun childhood and remained close as twins for the remainder of their lives.
Harlow was a 1960 graduate of Cleburne High School and attended TCU. He began his working career at Style-Rite Manufacturing Co., in Cleburne as the Mill Foreman for 17 years. He established long time friendships and experience he contributed to the owner, Karl Madsen. He always gave Karl credit for having faith in him. After Style-Rite, he went to work for Miller Brewing Company, there he made long-time friends. He enjoyed the Miller Golf Association which he played in many tournaments. Harlow retired after 30 years with Miller and began his retirement which included not only golf but motorcycling. He was a motorcycle enthusiast along with his brother Gidley since the age of 13 which continued on with his son David. Harlow attended Calvary Baptist Church faithfully for many years. He married Ann Hudson on June 30, 1961 in Cleburne.
He is survived by his wife, Ann of 60 years and son David, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his parents; granddaughter, Hannah; daughter-in-law, Jennifer and twin brother, Gidley.
Graveside service will be conducted at 10:00 A.M., Thursday, June 24, 2021 in Rosehill Cemetery. Reverend Charles Payne and Reverend Brooks Monk will officiate. Visitation will be 5-7:00 P.M., Wednesday, June 23, 2021 at the funeral home. Honorary pallbearers will be Billy Hudson, Wayne Hudson, Randy Edmonds, Richard Brown, Don Buerger, E.J. Barnes, Jimmy Wray, John Boog-Scott, Derek Wood, and Donnie Williams.
