Service for Harold Vaughn Rogers, 74, of Cleburne will be conducted at 10:00 A.M., Saturday, May 13, 2017 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. Pastor Tony Tawater will officiate. Burial will be in Bono Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Chisum Rogers, Calvin Rogers, Taylor Rogers, Dustin Rogers, Casey Rogers and Josh Hunt. Honorary pallbearers will be Austin McCleskey, Danny Rogers, Bobby Rogers, James Moore and Mike Harper. Visitation will be from 6-8:00 P.M., Friday, at the funeral home.
Harold Vaughn Rogers passed away Tuesday, May 9, 2017 in Cleburne. He was born August 17, 1942 in Dallas to Willie Yater and Ruby Mae Harper Rogers. He married Brenda Rogers on October 27, 1990 in Cleburne.
Mr. Rogers owned and operated Rogers Welding. He was also a singer and songwriter of both country and gospel songs. Harold was inducted into Texas Country Music Hall of Fame and in 1998 was named Nashville Male Vocalist of the Year.
Survivors include his beloved wife, Brenda Rogers of Cleburne; children, Sandra McDougal and husband Robert of Itasca, Carl Rogers and wife Jo of Rio Vista, Harold D. Rogers of Burleson, Tim Rogers and wife Jeanette of Rio Vista and Rusty Hammett of Cleburne; 13 grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren; sister, Vivian Moore of Temple; brother-in-law, Lloyd Harper of Grandview; sister-in-law, Reba Rogers of Cleburne; and a host of other relatives and friends who will miss him greatly. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Carol James; brothers, Will Rogers and Elmer Rogers; and one sister, Betty Harper.
