Hazel Bolden

Graveside service for Hazel Lorain (Henson) Bolden, 91, of Des Allemands, Louisiana will be conducted at 1:00 P.M., Friday, September 17, 2021, in Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday, September 17, 2021, from 10:00-11:30 A.M., at the funeral home.

Mrs. Bolden entered into rest on August 10, 2021, in Raceland, LA. Mrs. Bolden was born February 27, 1930, in St. Elmo, Tennessee to Homer Marion and Lonnie Mae (Thornton) Henson. She married George Shelby Bolden on December 7, 1946, in Lindale, Texas. Hazel was a member of First Assembly of God of Des Allemands, LA.

Everyone knew Hazel as MAMAW. She was a loving Wife, Mother and Friend and would help anyone that needed help no matter what it was. She never meets a stranger, and in most cases would keep in touch with everyone she had met along the way. Hazel loved to travel. Her and George would always make sure they had a family vacation each summer, this included friends a lot of the time. The favorite place was Red River, New Mexico.

Her and George helped start Passport America in Mississippi and would travel all over the Southern part of the U.S. going to RV shows to get the company going. That company is still doing great today.
In the past few years, she had several remarkable and memorable trips. She and Aunt Ellen went to see the ARK Encounter in Williamstown, Kentucky and to the Young Living Headquarters in Lehi, Utah with Marvin, and Sharon. She never stopped talking about her trips.

Hazel had a great Christian Life but was ready to go when GOD called her home. She was not afraid to die because she knew that her Home in Heaven was already built. Many will miss her, but she is waiting for our reunion one day.

Hazel is survived by her son, Tommy Bolden and daughter, Sharon Dufrene,
Sharon of Bayou Gauche, La, later went to be with the Lord, her mom and all the other loved ones in Heaven on August 17, 2021.

Hazel had 7 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren and many great-great grandchildren.

Hazel is preceded in death by her husband, George Bolden; son David Bolden; brother, Lendal Henson; father, Homer Henson; and mother, Lonnie Henson.
