Hazel McCowen

Service for Hazel M. McCowen, 89, of Cleburne, will be conducted at 10:30 A.M. Friday, August 12, 2011 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. Burial will be in Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8 P.M. Thursday at the funeral home.

Mrs. McCowen passed away Sunday, August 7, 2011 in Ft. Worth. She was born June 5, 1922 in Joshua to Robert Lee and Sally Stout Bayless. She married Gus Horace McCowen on February 28, 1941 in Weatherford, Texas.

Mrs. McCowen was a retired assembler for 3-M Company. She was a former cook and restaurant owner for many years in Cleburne and was of the Presbyterian faith.

Survivors include four sons, Horace McCowen of Mansfield, Odell McCowen and wife Linda of Lillian, Jerry McCowen, Pete McCowen and wife Peggy, all of Cleburne; daughter, Sue Ingram and husband Harvey of Weatherford, Okla.; 14 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren and a number of nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Horace, son Patrick, grandson Paul, great grandson Bradley and three brothers.
