Hazel Nelson

Services for Hazel Maurine Nelson, 91, of Apopka, Fla. will be conducted at 2:30 P.M., Tuesday, July 8, 2008 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne chapel. Burial will be in the Rosehill cemetery.
Mrs. Nelson passed away Thursday, July 3, 2008 in Winterpark, Fla. She was born July 10, 1916 in Temple, Tex. to David J. and Mabel Thompson Kahler. She married Louis Nelson on March 16, 1935 in Glen Rose. She was a beloved mother, sister, grandmother and great grandmother. She was from a multi-generational railroad family where her father was an engineer for the Texas Chief. Mrs. Nelson was a homemaker and attended San Marcos College and was of the Presbyterian faith.
Mrs. Nelson is survived by her daughters, Barbara Shearman and Carolyn Stalcup; sister, Martha Glasser; brothers, J.D. Kahler and Robert Kahler and their spouses; grandchildren, William Rolak, Carolyn Di Ann Knighton, Lesley Marsula, Philip Stalcup, Margaret Crater and their spouses; 12 great grandchildren, Jason and Jackie Rolak, Amber Wilson, David and Stacy Knighton, Sandy Martlew and Alex Marsula, Benton and Grace Stalcup, Amanda Stalcup and Devin and Quinn Crater; great great grandchild, Savannah Rolak; nieces, Donna Glasser, Charlene Gardner, Debbie Hart, Melody Dixon and Andrea Denuszek; nephews, Lee Foster, David Whittle, Dr. William Whittle and William Glasser, Jr. She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Louis Nelson; sister, Carole Whittle; sister in laws, Helen Foster, Mattie Kahler and Nell Kahler; brother in laws, Thomas Nelson, Wade Whittle and Horace Foster
