Hazel Owen is absent from her body and present with her Lord. She departed this life on Thursday, December 10, 2020 and went to her heavenly home.
Hazel Ann was born August 3, 1929 to Waldo Emerson and Hazel Grace Payne Waters. After high school in Cleburne, she attended TSCW and TCU. She became an architectural draftsman and was always thankful for the talent God gave her to design many homes in the Cleburne area.
She married Homer Curtis Owen in 1949, who preceded her to heaven in 2011. Her cremains will be interred with his at the National Cemetery in Grand Prairie where a private service will be held. A celebration of life will be at a later date when family and friends can reminisce together safely about a life well lived. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Cleburne Bible Church, 930 N. Nolan Rd., 76033.
Hazel grew up in the First Baptist Church where she accepted Jesus as a child. She believed God was ever present in her life and trusted the Holy Spirit to guide her steps. She loved studying the Bible as the truth and the moral compass for her life. For many years, she taught Sunday School in the Baptist and Presbyterian churches. For the last 30 years, she has been an active member of Cleburne Bible Church, especially in the weekly prayer groups.
Survivors are two sons and their families: Bryan Curtis and Marianne of Fort Worth and John Robert and Ramona of Cleburne and Oak Ridge, TN, who have two sons and a daughter. Her three grandchildren are Sean Michael and his wife Alyssa who have a daughter Lillian Grace and twin sons, Michael James and Emerson Matthew, as well as daughter Constance Elizabeth and son, Evan Trey, her special love!
As you remember Hazel, think about how much she loved life and was always ready to share her faith with family and many longtime beloved friends. She hoped her life blessed yours!
