Helen Blackwood

Service for Helen Blackwood, 86, of Cleburne will be conducted at 1:00 P.M., Wednesday, Nov. 6, 2013 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. Dr. Jerry Nelson will officiate. Burial will be in Lightfoot Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Jeffrey Blackwood, Jason Blackwood, Dane Blackwood, Jim Thompson, Spencer Thompson and Hugh Pettigrew. Honorary pallbearers will be Randal Partain, Tommy Tomlin and Ron Garey. Visitation will be from 6-8:00 P.M., Tuesday, at the funeral home.

Mrs. Blackwood passed away Sunday, Nov. 3, 2013 in Bellmead. She was born January 6, 1927 in Paris to Crisp Weir and Vera Dora Alice Moore Pettigrew. She married Owengene Blackwood on August 10, 1951 in Dallas and he preceded her in death on December 24, 2009.

Mrs. Blackwood was a dental hygienist, retiring with more than 25 years of service in the Dallas and Ft Worth area. She was a member of Westhill Church of Christ.

Survivors include her two sons, Larry Blackwood and wife Phyllis of Elm Mott and William Blackwood and wife Sandy of Fairfield; and three grandchildren, Jeffrey of Waco, Jason and wife Misty of Bryan and Dane of Huntsville; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was also preceded in death by her parents; one sister and four brothers.
