Helen Brown

Graveside service for Helen Teague Brown, 89, of Houston, will be conducted at 10:30 A.M. Friday, May 13, 2011 in the Burleson Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 6-8 P.M. Thursday in the Mountain Valley Funeral Home in Joshua.

Mrs. Brown passed away Sunday, May 8, 2011 in Houston. She was born April 12, 1922 in Cleburne to J. Owen and Hattie Elizabeth Hunt Teague. She married Archie Doye Brown on April 22, 1943 in Burleson.

Mrs. Brown was a homemaker and lived in Burleson for many years before moving to Houston in 2003. She sang for many weddings and funerals in Burleson and was a 50 year member of the church choir at First Baptist Church of Burleson.

Survivors include her daughters, Darla Rich of Lewisville and Debbie Smith and husband Curtis of Missouri City, TX; sister, Mable Jackson of Albuquerque, NM; granddaughter, Hallye Smith; grandson, Cuyler Smith and fiance Sharon Hsu; one niece, Marti Mayben and one nephew, Tom Jackson.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Doye Brown on June 29, 2004 and one brother, Mack Teague on April 2, 2003.
