Service for Helen Jean McVicker, 86, of Ft. Worth will be conducted at 2:00 P.M., Monday, January 9, 2017 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. Burial will be in Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 3:00 P.M. to 5:00 P.M., Sunday, at the funeral home.
Helen Jean McVicker, 86, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 4, 2017 in Ft. Worth. She was born Dec. 28, 1930 in Cleburne to Elbert and Virginia Ann Leonard McVicker. She was a graduate of Cleburne High School and worked as a civilian employee of the U.S. Dept. of Army before retiring. She spent 21 years in France and Germany pursuing her career and enjoyed traveling extensively before returning to Ft. Worth. Helen also enjoyed cooking and entertaining family and friends. She was a member of Sassy Seniors of Ft. Worth, Professional Women Business Association and Highland Church of Christ.
Survivors include her nephews, Don Ellyson of Waxahachie, Allen McVickers of Crowley, Steve McVicker of Houston, David McVicker of Cleburne; niece, Kathy McVicker of Cleburne; sister-in-law, Mary McVicker; and numerous great nieces, nephews; one great-great nephew, cousins and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Lester McVickers and Lloyd McVicker; sisters, Winona Calahan and Lera Mae Ellyson; and niece, Judy Calahan Sudduth.
