Service for Henry Grady Cheek, 95, of Cleburne, will be conducted at 10:00 A.M., Monday, August 9, 2021 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. Dr. Steve Mullen and Reverend Greg Fletcher will officiate. Burial will follow in Baker Lain Cemetery. Visitation will be 4-6:00 P.M. Sunday, August 8. 2021 at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be Cody Gomora, Jason Finch, Greg Fletcher, Jeff Burns, Justin Campbell and DeWayne Burns. Honorary pallbearers will be great grandsons, Parker Burns, Austin Burns, Justus Fletcher, Jacob Fletcher and William Finch.

Henry Grady Cheek passed away August 4, 2021 in Cleburne. He was born August 10, 1925 in Sagerton, Texas to William Z. and Mattie Ann Seago Cheek. He married Juanita Gay Free on March 1, 1947 in Cleburne. Grady was a superintendent for road construction for 26 years and was a consultant in his field till the age of 85. Grady Cheek served in the US Navy during World War II aboard the USS Scania AKA-40. This is when the love and loyalty to the United States began. Grady also loved his church, the New Hope Baptist Church of Cleburne. He was a long time member and the oldest person in the congregation. After a successful career, Grady was inducted into the National Association of Explosive Engineers. He was also honored by the Texas House of Representatives as an outstanding citizen of his community,


Grady is survived by his daughters Patricia Campbell and husband Mike of Bellevue, Deborah Burns of Cleburne; grandchildren, DeWayne Burns and wife Jennifer of Cleburne, Jeff Burns of Cleburne, Jana Fletcher and husband Greg of Henrietta, Crystal Finch and Jason of Hico, Justin Campbell and wife Kendall of Weatherford, Cody Gomora and wife Melissa of Arlington; 13 great-grandchildren; brother, Wayne Cheek and wife Nell of Midlothian and numerous nieces and nephews.

Grady is preceded in death by his, parents; wife, Juanita Cheek in August 1, 2013; sisters, Lucille Choate, Ophelia Mullen; brothers, Clead, Merle, Dubb and Doyle Cheek and son-in-law, Mike Burns in 2017.
