Graveside service for Henry Edward Ellis, 81, of Cleburne will be conducted at 1:00 P.M., Thursday, July 2, 2015 in Rosehill Cemetery. The Reverend Kenneth Coleman will officiate. Visitation will be from 6-7:30 P.M., Wednesday, at the funeral home.
Henry Edward Ellis passed away Sunday, June 28, 2015 in Keene. He was born September 20, 1933 in Lillian to E.S. and Zelma Bewley Ellis. He married Ida Ruth Marshell on July 31, 1958 in Cleburne.
Mr. Ellis served in the United States Marine Corp. Henry graduated from Alvarado High School in 1952 and went to work at Southwestern Bell Telephone that same year. He retired with 40 years of service. He was a member of Buel Baptist Church and will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Survivors include his wife of almost 57 years, Ida Ruth Ellis of Cleburne; son, Lance Ellis and wife Janine of Cleburne; grandchildren, Sydney Ellis of Ft. Worth and Abbie Brown of Cleburne; one sister, Barbara Hardy and husband John of Alvarado; sisters-in-law, Sue Lewis of Wichita Falls and Barbara Reynolds of Cleburne; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Asa Lynn Ellis in 2011; two brothers; and three sisters.
