Services for H.L. "Pete" Harper, 92, of Cleburne, will be conducted at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 18, 2007 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. Reverend Russell Allen and Dr. Joe Stephens will officiate. Burial will be in Nancy Smith Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Brandt Self, David Self, Tray Cagle, Mike Harper, Joe Bob Russell and Randy Daniels.

H.L. "Pete" Harper passed away Monday, August 13, 2007 in Ft. Worth. He was born April 27, 1915 in Eastland County, Texas to Zacharias Thomas and Ruby A. Proctor Harper. He married Jessie McCoy on October 11, 1936 in Glen Rose, Texas.

Mr. Harper worked for the Texas Department of Transportation in Cleburne for 35 years. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church.

"Pete" Harper is survived by his wife, Jessie Harper of Cleburne; son, Lloyd Harper and wife Betty of Grandview; grandson, Mike Harper and wife Carla of Grandview; granddaughters, Debbie Cagle of Grandview and LeAnne Self and husband David of Cleburne; great-grandchildren, Tray Cagle, Tiffany Cagle, Brandt Self, Brittny Self, Rendan Harper, Reagan Harper and Rileigh Harper; sister, Johnnie Nell Daniels of Ft. Worth and a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Grady Lee Harper and sisters, Wynema Ladare Stacy, Dollie Mae Elliott and Hattie Russell.
