Hilda Lunsford

Service for Hilda Kunkel Lunsford, 91, of Cleburne will be conducted at 11:00 A.M., Friday, March 3, 2017 at the Ascension Lutheran Church in Cleburne. Pastor Joe Ardy will officiate, assisted by Pastor Ben Rathgeber and Pastor Eddie Scheler. Burial will follow at 2:00 P.M., Friday in Salem Lutheran Cemetery in Malone. Visitation will be from 6-8:00 P.M., Thursday, at Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Funeral Home.
Hilda Kunkel Lunsford passed away Saturday, Feb. 25, 2017 in Cleburne. She was born April 3, 1925 in Malone to Fritz and Laura Markwardt Kunkel. She married Kenneth Ray Lunsford on Nov. 3, 1950 in Hillsboro and he preceded her in death on Feb. 11, 2007.
Mrs. Lunsford worked as a nurse’s aide until retiring and was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and a dear friend to many. She was a charter member of Ascension Lutheran Church.
Survivors include her daughters, Teresa Dunaway and husband Dean of Kennedale and Linda Damon of Hillsboro; grandchildren, Arvel Dean Dunaway, III and wife Machelle and Robert Sean Fant; great grandchildren, Hailey Basham and husband Alan, Brandon Dunaway, Nathan Dunaway and Hunter Linegar; brother, Edwin Kunkel and wife Rachel of Bynum; brother-in-law, Johnny Lunsford of Harker Heights; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends who will miss her greatly. She was also preceded in death by her parents; granddaughter, Amber Dawn Linegar; great granddaughter, Winter Connolly; and brothers, Awaldt Kunkel, Louis Kunkel, Wilbert Kunkel and Victor Kunkel.
