Homer Davis

Services for Homer N. Davis, Jr., 80, of Blum will be conducted at 1:00 p.m. Monday, August 10, 2009 in the Calvary Baptist Church, Cleburne. Dr. Joe Stephens, Rev. Tom Woods and Mr. Charlie Throckmorton will officiate. Burial will be in Blum Cemetery. Pallbearers will be John McPherson, Bob Hallmark, Charles Davis, Roger Young, Larry Durham and Bill Leverett. Honorary pallbearers will be Monroe Knight, Wilton Knight, Don Ward, James Steele, Shorty Goldsmith, Charles Hauk, Gary Hutson and Sam Crane.
Visitation will be from 3-5 p.m. Sunday, at the funeral home.
Mr. Homer N. Davis, Jr. passed away Thursday, August 6, 2009 in Blum. He was born on Jan. 6, 1929 in Ft. Worth to Homer Nichols, Sr. and Viva Lynn Gosney Davis. He married Leona Ruth Walker on Feb. 14, 1948 in Everman.
Mr. Davis was a dairyman for 46 years in the Everman and Blum communities and was of the Methodist faith.
Homer Davis, Jr. is survived by his wife, Ruth Davis of Blum; two sons, Gary Davis and wife, Charline, of Blum and Larry W. Davis, of Cleburne; two daughters, Kay Davis Tucker and husband, Doug and Jackie Cody and husband, Scott, all of Blum; ten grandchildren, James and Brenna Cordell, Dustin Cody, Dale Davis, Lynn and Tonya Davis, Chris and Lisa Booker, Kacy Davis Puryear, Bill and Kristin Cody, Alyssa and Evan Pugh, Rachel Davis and John and Renee Oakley; 13 great-grandchildren and one
great-great-grandchild.
Memorials may be made to the Angie Tubbs Scholarship Fund at any Wells Fargo Bank.
