Service for Howard Page Ard, 75, of Cleburne will be conducted at 1:00 P.M., Friday, April 1, 2016, at Friendship Baptist Church. The Reverend Brian McClure will officiate, assisted by the Reverend Steve Dill. Burial will be in Greenacres Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 6-8:00 P.M., Thursday, at the funeral home.
Howard P. Ard passed away Monday, Mar. 28, 2016, in Cleburne. He was born Feb. 23, 1941, in Nacogdoches to William Edward and Ruby Elena Means Ard. He married Lillie Anderson on Nov. 28, 2009 in Cleburne.
Mr. Ard served in the United States Army and worked as a furnace chief with Johns-Manville, retiring in 1996 with over 30 years of service. He was also a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and a friend to many. He was a member of Friendship Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Lillie Ard of Cleburne; two sons, Martin Ard and wife Tiffany of Chico and Darrin Ard and wife Veronica of Wichita Falls; daughters, Katheleen Lee and husband Kevin Lee of Rio Vista and Beverly Turner and husband Jaffe of Cleburne; grandchildren, Kody Parkis, Richard Ard, Savannah Rogers, Kelsey Lindsey, William Ard, Parker Ard, Whitnie Wagner, Garrett Lee, Jasper Lee, Noah Lee, and Fischer Lee; great-grandchildren, Zaidee Rogers, Harleigh Parkis, Zaylon Rogers, and one on the way; brothers, Johnny Ard and Wayne Ard; sisters, Amy Louise Bushong and Cathy Vaco; and numerous nieces, nephews, and church family. He was preceded in death by his parents; first wife, Margaret Gail Parish Ard; and daughter, Julie Renee Ard.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Friendship Baptist Church or Children's Neuroblastoma Cancer Foundation.
