Howard Cox passed away Tuesday, December 8, 2009 in Frisco. Mr. Cox was born to the late, T.E. Cox, Sr. and Mandy Fletcher Cox on May 16, 1921 in Wilson, Oklahoma. He married Hazel McBride on January 6, 1941 in Cleburne. Howard served in the United States Army during World War II, participating in the D Day invasion. He worked as an inspector, appraiser, and cost analyst for 20 years with the Federal Housing Agency. After retiring 30 years ago, he and his wife enjoyed traveling throughout the states in their R.V. Howard was known by all as a man who demonstrated his love of the Lord and his family in his kind, quiet, and generous way. Howard spent many summers camping at South Fork, CO, fishing and was a champion bean-bag player in the RV park. Never meeting a stranger, he enjoyed exercising by walking with friends in the mall two or three times a week. Howard loved to build things and tackled any project he came across. His loving spirit and outgoing nature will be greatly missed by all those that knew and loved him. Howard was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Roy Cox, Henry Cox, and Dorothy Smith.

Survivors include his wife of 68 years, Hazel Cox; two sons and daughters in laws, Don Cox and wife, Janece; Randy Cox and wife, Trudy; grandchildren and their spouses, John Cox and wife, Larissa; Scott Cox and wife, Lori; Christi Cox Schwalk and husband, Tim; Cameron Cox; Jason Smith and wife, Tracy; Jamin Smith and wife, Tina; Jodi Smith Dupree and husband, Eric. Great grandchildren include Connor, Cassidy, and Camille Cox; Tyler and Tanner Cox; Severine, Meghan, Ashlynn, Jaden and Caleb. He is also survived by his sister, Lura Brand, and brothers: T.E. Cox, Jr., Jim Cox, and R.B. Cox
