Hugh Higgins

Service for Hugh B. Higgins, 84, of Cleburne, will be conducted at 3:00 P.M., Friday, August 9, 2013 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. Pastor Tony Torres will officiate. Burial will be in Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8:00 P.M., Thursday, at the funeral home.

Mr. Higgins passed away Wednesday, August 7, 2013 in Cleburne. He was born January 25, 1929 in Cleburne to A.F. and Jewell Marie Smith Higgins. He married Ruby Marie Tamplen on January 30, 1981 in Cleburne.

Mr. Higgins was a longtime Cleburne attorney. He graduated from Cleburne High School in 1946, from Hardin-Simmons University in 1951, and held advanced degrees from Southern Methodist University. He served his country proudly in the United States Navy. He was a member of Cleburne Elks Lodge, a 50 year member of Cleburne Rotary Club and a 50 year member of the Texas State Bar Association. He was of the Catholic faith.

Survivors include his wife of 32 years, Ruby Higgins; sons, Finlay Higgins and wife Debbie and Kelley Higgins; daughters, Honey Weinstein and husband Phillip and Rose Tucker; grandchildren, Charles Higgins, Michael Weinstein, Shelby Weinstein and Ashley Jones; sister, Dorothy Fulfer; and a number of nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; a grandchild, Kyle Higgins and sisters, Marie Doerr and Betty Jones.
