Graveside services for Imogene Blankenship-Crocker, 81, of Cleburne will be conducted at 2:00 p.m. Friday, April 10, 2009 at the Buel Cemetery. The Rev. Orville Shindoll will officiate. Pallbearers will be her grandsons and honorary pallbearers will be her children. Visitation will be at the funeral home Thursday from 6-8 p.m.
Imogene Blankenship-Crocker passed away Tuesday, April 7, 2009 in Cleburne. She was born August 27, 1927 in Seymour, Texas to Sabra Evelena Vickers and Clarence Woods Blankenship. She married Raymond W. Crocker Sr. on June 30, 1951 in San Antonio.
Mrs. Crocker graduated from International Bible College, San Antonio, TX. She and her husband were committed to serving Christ throughout their many years together. They helped to build churches in the Caribbean in such places as Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, Haiti, etc., were youth ministers in Wichita Falls, Sunday School Teachers in Wichita Falls, Fort Worth and contributed to the spreading of Gospel around the world. They were married for 43 years, 9 months and 5 days a the time of Raymond's passing. She was a life member of VFW Ladies Auxiliary and life member of DAV Ladies Auxiliary.
Her family knew her by many names; her husband called her Sugar, Honey and Jeannie and her family called her Momma, Imogene, Jeannie, Momma-Jean, Granny, Granny Jeannie and Aunt Imogene.
Imogene Crocker is survived by her children, Raymond Wesley Crocker, Jr. and wife, Deborah Henderson-Crocker, Clarence Daniel Crocker, Michael Wayne Crocker and wife, Glenda Norris-Crocker, Paula Jean Crocker, James Jackson Crocker and wife, Melania Zaubrecher-Crocker and David Ernest Crocker; brothers, Robert Blankenship and Ancle Blankenship; in-laws, Etta Blankenship, Eddie Crocker, Edith Crocker, Joseph Crocker and Effie Crocker; 8 grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Raymond W. Crocker, Sr.; father, Clarence W. Blankenship; mother, Sabra E. Vickers-Blankenship; father-in-law, Clarence T. Crocker; mother-in-law, Phebe E. Pearson-Crocker; daughter-in-law, Marie Schucha-Crocker; four sisters and one brother.
