Ira Parnell

Service for Ira Mae Parnell, 95, of Cleburne will be conducted at 2:00 P.M., Friday, November 28, 2014 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. The Reverend Eddie Freeman will officiate. Burial will be in Rosehill Cemetery.

Mrs. Parnell died November 24, 2014 in an area nursing home. She was born July 15, 1919 in Kopperl , Bosque County, Texas, the daughter of George D. and Annie Belle Bullard Winkler. She married William Odis Parnell on February 5, 1930 in Bosque County. She was a homemaker who loved the Lord. She was a longtime member of Henderson Street Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 66 years; grandson, Jeff Parnell; great grandson, Jordan Smith; and three brothers.

Survivors include her sister, Irene Vaughn; four sons, William D. Parnell and wife Jean, David W. Parnell and wife Brenda, Melvin L. Parnell and wife Gloria, Tolbert L. Parnell and wife Virginia; all of the Cleburne area; six grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends.

Pallbearers will be Mrs. Parnell’s grandchildren, Carol Smith, Clint Parnell, Jenny Pendley, Ricky Parnell, Christie Williams and Eddie Parnell. Honorary pallbearers will be Mrs. Parnell’s great grandchildren, Travis Parnell, Wesley Parnell, Sarah Hunter, Curry Parnell, Ryan Parnell, Rachel Parnell, Gracie Smith, Bridger Pendley, Jeremy Williams and Randi Parnell.
