Ira Hicks Walker was born in Alvarado on December 7, 1929, the sixth child of Ira J. Walker and Gladys Caldwell Walker. Gone to be with his passed loved ones and his Heavenly Father on November 12th 2007 in Cleburne, Texas.
He served in the Screaming Eagles 82nd Airborne Division in the 40's. He made his home in Ft. Worth and California. After suffering a severe heart attack four years ago he came to live at Colonial Manor in Cleburne.
Graveside services will be held at the Glenwood Cemetery in Alvarado. Services will be conducted by Pastor Dominic Valero of Open Heart Ministries.
He is survived by one son, Cecil Walker of Arkansas; two daughters, Rhonda Camp of Grandview and Beverly Preston and her husband, Cody of Joshua; one sister, Bettie Walker Allen and her husband, Bob of Cleburne. Ira has four grandchildren and six great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews.
We wish to thank the nurses and staff at Colonial Manor and most of all, his best buddy, Larry, for their support and care during his stay there.
