Irene Castanuela

Funeral services for Irene Sandoval Castanuela, 79, of Cleburne, will be conducted at 10:00 A.M. Wednesday, March 26, 2014 in the Crosier Pearson Cleburne Chapel. Reverends Charles E. Payne and Brooks Monk will officiate. Burial will follow at Rosehill Cemetery with Joe Rodolfo, Randall Coleman, Robert Castanuela, Eric Castanuela, Carlos Flores, Alek Castanuela and Dylan Castanuela serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 P.M. at the funeral home on Tuesday.
Irene passed away Friday, March 21, 2014 in Fort Worth. She was born to Luis and Petra Fernandez Sandoval on June 25, 1934 in Salt Gap, Texas. She was married to Guadalupe Castanuela until he preceded her in death on August 29, 1977. She was of the Baptist faith and worked as a nurse’s aide. Irene will be missed greatly by all who knew and loved her. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband; sons, Richard Castanuela and Carlos Castanuela; and brother Luis Sandoval.
Survivors include her lifelong companion, Donny Ballew; sons, Guadalupe Castanuela, Jr., John Castanuela, Erasmo Castanuela, Vicente Castanuela, and Pete Castanuela; daughters, Guadalupe Jimenez, Gloria Casillas, Rachel Gonzalez, Judy Aquilar, Maria Castanuela, Doris Castanuela, and JoAnn Rogers; siblings, Efran Sandoval, Francisco Sandoval, Hermania Felan, and Belia Castanuela; 25 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren as well as a host of other relatives and friends.
