J. Young

Services for J.W. Young, 77, of Cleburne, will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 19, 2007 in the Calvary Baptist Church. Rev. Charles Payne will officiate. Burial will be in Derden Cemetery.
J.W. Young passed away Sunday, July 15, 2007 in Dallas, Texas. He was born December 16, 1929 in Athens, TX to Benjamin Columbus, Sr. and Vera Jo Neal Young. He married Bettie Lyree Johns on November 5, 1955 in Dallas.
Mr. Young retired from working as a steelworker in the oil industry. He loved hunting, fishing, horseback riding and working on projects in his garage. He also loved playing with his grandchildren. In his earlier years, Mr. Young worked as a cowboy on the King Ranch, he loved horses and rodeos. He served in the US Marines and was a member of the Disabled Veterans and Calvary Baptist Church.
J.W. Young is survived by his wife, Bettie Young of Cleburne; son, Trennon Young and wife Becky of Stephenville; daughter, Lyree Gilbert and husband Mike of Rowlett; brothers, Dr. B.C. Young, Jr. of Lubbock and John Paul Young of Jacksonville, TX;sisters, Retha Rogers of Las Vegas, Nevada and Pauline Dearing of Abilene; grandchildren, Zachary Young, Jordon Young, Charis Gilbert, Christian Gilbert, Calan Gilbert, Cathilyn Gilbert and a number of nieces and nephews.
