Jack Smith

Services for Jack H. Smith, 80, of Arlington, formerly of Powhatan, Virginia, will be conducted at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, October 28, 2010 in the Field Street Baptist Church, 201 N. Field St. at Henderson, Cleburne. The Reverend John Glover will officiate. Committal will follow at 2:30 P.M. in the DFW National Cemetery in Dallas.
Visitation will be from 6-8 P.M. Wednesday at the funeral home.

Mr. Smith passed away Monday, October 25, 2010 in Arlington. He was born December 25, 1929 in Cleburne to Elbert Frost and Nora Lee Harris Smith. He married Dorothy Juanita Cox Smith on June 24, 1951 in Cleburne.

Jack served in the U. S. Air Force. He was a retired radar technician with the Federal Aviation Administration and a member of Field Street Baptist Church.

Jack H. Smith is survived his son, Stephen J. Smith and wife, Caroline of Powhatan, Virginia; daughter, Ann E. Gaines and husband Grant of Yukon, Oklahoma; grandson, Brant H. Smith and great granddaughter, Raven A. Smith, both of Mobile, Alabama; sister, Johnnie Faye Miller of Cleburne, niece Rita Reed of Ft. worth; nephew, Gene Smith and wife Joan of Sealy and a host of other relatives and friends.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Dorothy J. Smith on November 22, 2007; his parents and a brother, Charles Smith.
