Celebration of Life services for John Howard (Jack) Szucs, 77, will be held on Saturday, March 13, 2010, come and go from 2-4 p.m., aboard the Contessa Paddle Boat located at J.J. Finn's Restaurant, 3351 W. Burleigh Blvd., Tavares, FL. Mr. Szucs passed away Thursday, February 25, 2010 in Cleburne, Texas. He was born to Steven and Genevieve Szucs on November 13, 1932 in Akron, Ohio. Jack married Carolyn Louise Allen on December 8, 1990 in Las Vegas, NV. He was of the Lutheran faith. Jack retired as a Lieutenant after 23 years service with the United States Navy, in which time he served during the Korean Conflict and Vietnam Era. Jack was a perfectionist, always "by the book". He was a kind, generous man that everyone loved. After retirement he and Carolyn embarked on a new journey across the country, work camping together. Jack will be missed greatly by all those that knew and loved him. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Robert (Lucky) Szucs.
Survivors include his wife, Carolyn Szucs; daughters, Dana Lassik, Cheryl Szucs and Melody Baker; grandchildren, Dustin Crume, Tyler Mattingly, Ryan Baker and Adam Baker; great grandchildren, Haley Mattingly and Emma Crume; sister, Mary Risen; several nieces, nephews and a host of other relatives and friends.
