A memorial service for James Ray “Jimmy” Adair, 74, of Godley will be conducted at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, April 4, 2015 in Godley Cemetery. Mr. Scottie Brown, a family friend will officiate.
James Ray “Jimmy” Adair passed away Wednesday, April 1, 2015 in Ft. Worth. He was born May 11, 1940 in Cleburne to James Arthur “Pete” and Mary Frances Franklin Adair. He married Betty Lee Yater on January 17, 2003 in Godley.
Mr. Adair was a cross country commercial truck driver. He drove for Missouri Pacific for 28 years, Brown Express for three years, and Jones for two years before retiring. Jimmy was a member of the Teamsters Local No. 745 since 1963 and the Godley Methodist Church, joining at the age of nine. Jimmy was a loving husband, great dad (Big Daddy), and avid hunter. He enjoyed sharing stories and was a good friend to many.
Survivors include his wife, Betty Yater Adair; children, Sheryl Jean Adair and partner Traci Gilbert, Tamra Fay Stephens, Mark Allan Starnes, Maria Tereasa Phillips and husband Jeff, and Alex Rothdeutsch and wife Diana; grandchildren, Kyle “Dusty” Stephens Jr., Misty Loffler, Ryan Starnes, Shane Starnes, Chasen Starnes, Adam Phillips, Amanda Cooper and husband Brandon, Emily Griggs and husband Sean, Samantha Michelle Timberman and Dylan Connor Timberman; five great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Julie Cloud and Paula Jean Morrison; and daughter, Nicole Michelle Timberman.
