James T. Bryant passed away Tuesday, June 28, 2005 in Covington. He was born February 18, 1922 in Covington, Texas to A. M. and Lydia Anderson Bryant. He married Billye Hunt on December 27, 1943 in Cleburne.
Mr. Bryant worked for Safeway as a store manager and later retired as a department manager from Montgomery Wards. He was a deacon in the First Baptist church of Covington, where he taught Sunday School. He loved people and had a great sense of humor.
He was a member of the Masonic Lodge of Covington.
James T. Bryant is survived by his wife, Billye Bryant of Covington; three sons, Terry Bryant and wife Janet of Covington, Charles Bryant and wife Mary Lynn of Covington, Timothy W. Bryant of Covington; sister, Ozella Scales of St. Louis, Mo.; 7 grandchildren, Kristi Lynn Moore of Ft. Worth, Dr. Jason Kyle Bryant of Waco, Cody Blake of Ft. Worth, James Anthony Bryant of Ft. Worth, Teresa Bryant of Ft. Worth, Gene Bryant of Covington, Jeremy Bryant of Ft. Worth; 8 great-grandchildren; a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers, William Bryant and Norris T. Bryant; one sister, Alta Mae Ringner.
