Service for James Neal Cain, 79, of Cleburne will be conducted at 10:00 A.M., Wednesday, March 21, 2018 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. Dr. David denHartog will officiate. Burial will follow in Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8:00 P.M., Tuesday, at the funeral home.
James Neal Cain passed away Sunday, March 18, 2018 in Cleburne. He was born September 29, 1938 in Terry County, Texas to Elmer Neal and Olive Gwendolyn Scott Cain. Mr. Cain was a dedicated law Enforcement Officer for 35 years. He was a policeman in Abilene from 1962 – 1967, then worked for the Texas Department of Public Safety for 15 years, became the Sherriff of Stephens County (Breckenridge) for 8 years; and finally a Safety Law Enforcement Consultant for the Texas Association of Counties for 17 years. He was a Mason for more than 30 years and was of the Baptist faith.
Survivors include his daughters, Karen Cain of Cleburne and Lisa Cain of Granbury; brothers, Doug Cain of Rio Vista and Jere Mansfield of Cleburne; and an aunt, Lenora Wilson-Price of Houston. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Doris; and stepbrother, LC Mansfield.
