Service for James C. Gibbs “Gibbro”, 78, of Cleburne will be conducted at 10:00 A.M., Friday, July 14, 2017 in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. The Reverend Mark Ely, Pastor Charles Martin, and Mr. Rex Pritchard will officiate. Burial will be in Rosehill Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6-8:00 P.M., Thursday, at the funeral home.
James C. Gibbs “Gibbro” passed away Monday, July 10, 2017 in Cleburne. He was born March 21, 1939 in Red River County, Texas to Jay and Lillian Pearl Smith Gibbs. He married Martha Gale Hasty on Dec. 19, 1958 in Cleburne.
Mr. Gibbs worked for the Santa Fe Railroad, retiring with over 25 years of service. James enjoyed music, gardening and detailing his vehicles. He especially loved spending time with his family out on the lake. He was a member of College Heights Baptist Church.
Survivors include his beloved wife of 58 ½ years, Gale Gibbs of Cleburne; three childen, Tammy Miller and husband Stephen of Lake Jackson, Yale Gibbs and wife Rhonda of Cleburne, and Tena Walls of Portland; seven grandchildren, Paxton Miller, Haley Reichenau and husband Brandon, Cameron Walls and wife Anastasiia, Candace Landin and husband Lorenzo, Shelby Gibbs, Amanda Mears and husband Chet, and Megan Marin and husband Richard; six great grandchildren, Anniston Miller, Marley Walls, Callen Landin, Gracie Mears, Emily Marin, and Lucas Marin; and numerous other family and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and a grandson, Corey Miller.
