Service for James Donald “Don” Halbert III, 60, of Cleburne, will be conducted at 2:00 P.M., Saturday, June 18, 2022, in the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Chapel. A private family burial will follow in Joshua Hopewell Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 6:00-8:00 P.M., Friday, June 17, 2022, at the Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Chris Halbert, Tanner Kirkham, Kash Kirkham, Ranger Jones, Hunter Kirkham, Cody Thornton, Shawn Jennings, and Kevin Jones.
Don passed away Tuesday, June 14, 2022, in Fort Worth. He was born December 10, 1961, in Arlington to James Donald Halbert, Jr., and Marian Elaine (Nichols) Halbert. Don married Sherrie Diane Sterling on March 10, 2000, in Granbury. He was of the Baptist faith. He worked in Telecommunications as a service technician. It has been said that Don was the greatest man many have ever known. He had a strong faith, confidence and dependable nature. Don had a tough exterior but was a loving man with a big heart. He was a collector of coins and enjoyed the hunt for any treasure that he could find. He could be found at the casinos, fishing or hunting. Don was a family man and he loved being “Meme” to his grandchildren. His independent spirit and love of life will be forever remembered.
Don is survived by his wife of 22 years, Sherrie Halbert; children, Chris Halbert and spouse, Emilee Robinson, Aleisha Jones and spouse, Kevin, Dana Jennings and spouse, Shawn, Tanner Kirkham and spouse, Amber, Kendra Kirkham and spouse, Cody Thornton; grandchildren, Zack, Zoey, Ranger, Brenner, Mr. Hunter, Scout, Miss Hunter, Lexi, and Kash; mother, Marian Halbert; a very special mother-in-law, Jean A. Evans; siblings, Susan Halbert, David Halbert and spouse, Noemi; numerous nieces, nephews, and a host of other relatives and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father.
