James Hearne

JW Hearne known as “Jimmy” by many family and friends was born March 23, 1929 in Osceola, Texas. On May 13, 2023, he peacefully passed away with his family surrounding him. He was 94 years, 7 weeks and 2 days young.
On May 16th he was laid to rest with a private burial, in the Cleburne Memorial Cemetery officiated by Crosier-Pearson Cleburne Funeral Home and his grown children, Gary L. Hearne, Shelia J. (Hearne) Vanshoubrouek & James M. Hearne.

Since 1948, Jimmy & Louise (Easdon) married to begin leaving a legacy of (23) children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Originally living in Cleburne Tx then Ft Worth then Snyder, Tx. From 1968 to 1973 Jimmy & Louise lived in Arlington until Louise died of an unforeseen illness at the age of 42. Jimmy survived the heartbreak for 7 years before remarrying in 1980 to Velma L., who also had 4 adult children, several grandchildren and later, great grandchildren. From 1968 through 2022 Jimmy lived at the same address in Arlington, Tx. where he enjoyed family, reading, countless hours in his work shop making wooden crafts, miscellaneous art works, repairing items, gardening, fishing Lake Whitney, Brazos River, Nolan River & traveling.

His more than 50 year work history took him from the family farm in Osceola Tx., then the Blum Tx ranch to several employers in Ft. Worth; 12 years working on the B36 @ Convair, 8 years as restaurant manager in Snyder, Tx then to Arlington where he finally settled & finished with 26 years in management @ Kresge Corp. before retiring to his craft shop and family life.

He enjoyed many friendships with his family, in-laws, neighbors and coworkers. To the end he stayed in close contact with his brother Bill & Carolyn Hearne & his sister Georgia Voiles. His patience and gentle spirit as a father, brother, uncle, husband & friend was enjoyed by all who knew him. He was truly loved and will be deeply missed. He prayed faithfully to Jesus Christ, his Lord & Savior.

He is preceded in death by his wife Louise (Easdon) in 1973, his grandson Cole Hearne in 2008. Jimmy’s parents; Mr & Mrs W.C. Hearne, brothers Carl, George & Massey. Sister, Maelna New, his wife Velma L. in 2014, her daughter Debra in 2023.
