Graveside service for James Louis Hill, 81, of Cleburne will be conducted at 4:00 P.M., Friday, April 27, 2012 in the Keene Memorial Park.
Mr. Hill passed away Saturday, April 21, 2012 in Ft. Worth. He was born May 20, 1930 in Cleburne. He graduated from Pascal High School and earned a bachelor of science degree in microbiology from TCU. He married the love of his life, Bettye Louise Smith on August 28, 1954 in Ft. Worth.
Mr. Hill served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. He retired as a microbiologist in the medical research industry, working for Ft. Dodge Laboratories in Amarillo and Harlan Sprague Dawley in Madison, Wisconsin. He was an avid reader, especially of cowboy books. He enjoyed watching Star Trek. Mr. Hill was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Keene since 1991, where he served as an usher. His strong will and independent spirit will be missed greatly by all who knew and loved him.
Survivors include his daughter and her husband, Misty Hill and Mark Kimbrell; brother, Miller Earle Hill; nephew, Kenneth Earle Hill and a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joe Bailey and Rubye Elizabeth Layland Meredith; wife Bettye Hill; son, James Lawrence Hill and brother, Kenneth Hill.
