James Hussong

James Allen Hussong went to The Lord surrounded by his loving family on 6/23/2023 in Granbury, Texas.
James is survived by his wife Sherry Hussong. His children, Jennifer and Jason Everidge, Christy and Justin Hanks, Marty and Ashley Hussong, and Sherri Ann and Jeff Bruton. His grandchildren Dakota, Hailey, Whitney & Jarret Slayton, Britney, Lane Allen, Richard, Justin, and Tyler. Great grandchildren, including Denton and Dawson. Numerous nieces, nephews, and friends.

James was born November 1st, 1943, in Fort Worth, Texas to Florence Estelle Newland and J.D. Hussong. James married the love of his life Sherry Hussong on March 24th, 1972. James worked for Texas steel for 30+ years. He loved hunting, fishing, playing horseshoes, ice cold beer, and spoiling his grandkids and great grandkids. He was a man that gave often and never expected anything in return. He will be deeply missed by everyone that knew him.

James is proceeded in death by his mother Florence Estelle Dilleshaw, his father J.D. Hussong, his grandkids Denton and Dalton Hanks, brother-in-law TJ Howe, sister Wanda Sherman, sister Joyce Day, brother Hayden Dilleshaw, and Danny Dilleshaw.


Celebration of Life will be held at 10:30 A.M., Monday, June 26, 2023 in the Crosier- Pearson Cleburne Chapel in Cleburne, Texas. Burial will follow at Holly Hills Cemetery in Granbury, Texas. The family is welcoming family and friends to celebrate James legacy with them, at Christy and Justin’s home 4712 Stoney Creek Ct. Granbury, TX after the graveside service.
Visitation will be Sunday, June 25th, 2023, from 5pm-7pm at the funeral home.
